Oyelo is software that restaurants use to ask their guests for feedback on WhatsApp, follow up with unhappy guests, invite happy guests to leave a Google review, and send offers. This page explains what information Oyelo handles and why.
If you are a guest, the restaurant you visited decides whether to add you and what to send. Oyelo stores and sends that information on the restaurant’s behalf. To stop messages at any time, reply STOP on WhatsApp (or Stop promotions to stop only offers).
What we collect
- Restaurant accounts: names and email addresses of the owner and team members, restaurant details (name, phone, address, Google review link), plan and billing records.
- Guests (added by the restaurant or imported from its billing system): name, mobile number and, if the restaurant adds them, email, birthday, anniversary, tags and notes; visits; whether the guest agreed to WhatsApp messages or opted out.
- Messages and feedback: WhatsApp messages sent to and received from guests, their delivery status, ratings and comments given on the feedback page, whether the Google review button was tapped, and coupons issued or redeemed.
How it is used
- To send the messages the restaurant chose, only to guests recorded as having agreed to receive them.
- To show the restaurant its guests’ feedback so it can reply and improve, and to measure results (for example response rates).
- To run the service: sign-in, security, support and billing. Oyelo staff can open a restaurant’s account to set it up and support it; each access is recorded.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Who else processes it
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) delivers WhatsApp messages. WhatsApp messages are also subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Supabase hosts the database and sign-in, and our hosting providers run the website and servers.
- Google receives a visit only if a guest chooses to open the restaurant’s Google review page.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Each restaurant can see only its own data. WhatsApp access credentials are stored encrypted on our servers and are never shown in the browser.
How long we keep it
Information is kept while the restaurant uses Oyelo. A restaurant can delete a guest at any time. When a restaurant stops using Oyelo, its data is deleted on request.
Your choices
- Guests: reply STOP on WhatsApp to stop all messages, or “Stop promotions” to stop offers only.
- To see, correct or delete your information, contact the restaurant, or contact us at vishalchepyala@gmail.com.
